On Saturday, September 26, 2009, we had the privilege of competing in the East Perry County horse show at Altenburg, MO, this is the "Biggest - Little Fair" around!!
We were only able to complete in 2 classes, as time would not allow us to stay at the show any longer, however, WE PLACED 4th in the Women's lite shod gaited horse class. I know 4th place doesn't sound like much, but believe me, it was HUGE for us! I was showing one of our Peruvian mares, KLF Isabella, and we were competing with all Tennessee Walkers.....in Southeast Missouri the TN Walker breed is "the" gaited choice of horse....Peruvian's are unknown, so for a judge to even put us in 4th place was the recognition we were searching for!

After 2 events we rushed home, took care of horses, threw on a change of clothes and headed back to the fair for some of the best "fair food" around! Then we enjoyed the "mule jumping" competition! Unfortunately, due to rain, the truck pull had to be canceled. We arrived home that evening 2 very tired people and slept like babies that night.
Next year......we're bringing MORE horses! |
